5 Podcasts Every Creative Should Listen To
Are you obsessed with podcasts like me?
When I first discovered what a podcast was, I was hooked and started to listening to them everywhere. In the shower, while painting, cleaning, literally everywhere! I had learned that there were podcasts about many different topics, but the shows that really interested me were the ones about business. I have learned so much over the years by just listening to podcasts, and they have helped me feel not so alone in owning a creative biz.
I am really excited to share with you my 5 favorite podcasts that I think every creative should start listening to today!
The Goal Digger Podcast
If you haven’t heard of Jenna Kutcher, girl you need to get your booty over there and start listening to her show! The Goal Digger Podcast is the very first show I had ever listened to and what started my love for podcasts! Jenna shares so many nuggets of wisdom for women business owners in every episode in a way that makes you feel like you are listening to an old friend. Jenna is so real and down to earth I can’t tell you how much I have learned by just listening to the Goal Digger Show alone.
Not only does Jenna talk about business, but also about real life stuff that we as women deal with every day. One of my favorite episodes of the Goal Digger Podcast is episode #270. In this episode Jenna interviews Claire Baker who is a period coach for women. Claire and Jenna go deep about how our monthly cycle can affect our creativity and how we can learn to work with it. This episode literally blew my mind! I promise when you are done listening to the Goal Digger Podcast you will feel like taking on the world in your yoga pants!
The Modern Creative Podcast
Talk about juicy creative biz stuff! Dianuh and Joyce are the two brilliant women behind The Modern Creative Podcast. These two girls make the boring side of owning a creative biz fun! If you have an artsy brain like me, Pinterest strategy and marketing is a struggle, but thankfully Dianuh and Joyce brake it all down in simple steps for us right brained people! The best part is their tips actually work! Episode #52 is where they go deep about Pinterest Strategy for creative businesses. Trust me, make sure you have a pen and paper ready to go, because you’ll be taking lots of notes!
SHE Podcast
If you are a new business owner, collage student, or you have no clue what you want to do, you need to listen to the SHE Podcast! Jordan Lee Dooley is so relatable to any woman no matter what stage in life they are in! Jordan isn’t afraid to share the truth and encourages women to just show up as they are.
I wish I had the SHE Podcast when I had just graduated high school. At the time I had no idea what I wanted to do and felt so lost and so much pressure to have it all figured out at just 18! In episode #60 Jordan talks about how to find your passion and it is so good! I have been encouraging my younger sisters to start listening to the SHE Podcast and read Jordan’s new book called Own Your Every Day! So much goodness, you guys!
The Biz Bash Podcast
Cami and Elisabeth are the two stationers behind The Biz Bash Podcast. These girls share how they started their creative biz and all the tips and tricks that they have learned along the way. Not only are Cami and Elisabeth hilarious, but they talk about the real side of owning a creative business and they are not afraid to share some of the mistakes that they have made along the way. These girls are the real deal and I love how honest they are.
One of my favorite episodes is episode #23 where Cami and Elisabeth talk about how they diversify their income. It is hard making it in the art world and let me just tell you, these girls share their money secrets! I took so many notes while listening to this episode it was so good!
Don’t Keep Your Day Job
Do you ever wonder how businesses like Halo Top ice cream started or are wondering how to make your creativity a career? Well then, you need to listen to Cathy Heller’s Podcast Don’t Keep Your Day Job! Cathy interviews many amazing business owners who share their humble beginnings and the little secrets you need to know to start a businesses! Cathy believes that no matter what you are passionate about, if you put in the work you will be successful.
When I first came across the Don’t Keep Your Day Job podcast I started from the very beginning and just binged through as many episodes as I could before my brain became overloaded with good info! You will definitely walk away feeling more inspired than ever after each episode!
