I have been asked so many times why I paint wedding bouquets, and I thought why not share a little blog post about it! The easy answer is to just tell you that I love to paint bouquets, but that is just a small piece of why I paint them. I decided to take you guys back to my wedding day…

Almost two and a half years ago, on the day of my wedding, I remember waking up still not knowing exactly what I wanted my wedding bouquet to look like. I wan’t worried though, because I had already planned to go to one of my favorite stores with my moms, and my sister Micah to pick out the flowers that I wanted to carry down the aisle. Once we got to the store we grabbed our coffees and made our way to the flower section to start to gather the flowers for my bouquet. It was so fun picking each flower out and it was even more fun having people I love there with me. It was a very special, quiet morning before the big day began. When I got back to my aunt and uncles farm, where connor and I were getting married, my friend Lena arranged my flowers into a beautiful bouquet for me. You guys! My wedding bouquet was so special and beautiful!

That evening after the wedding reception, Connor and I were getting ready to leave. We weren’t just leaving for our honeymoon we were actually moving to our new home in Georgia. We had a trailer hitched to the truck and we were leaving that night. Those goodbyes that night were so hard. I was so excited to start this new life with Connor, but I was a little sad at the same time. I knew I would be moving away from all my family and close friends. It was so bittersweet. We were so busy with our goodbyes that night and I had laid my bouquet down on a table and forgot about it. I remember thinking about my bouquet during the 14 hour drive to GA, and feeling sad that I had left it. I had spent so much time on my bouquet and I had planed to keep it forever. Little did I know that the next morning my sister Micah found my bouquet, all wilted and laying on one of the tables. When she saw it she almost started to cry. She hurried and picked it up and dried it for me. She had my grandpa make a beautiful shadow box for my bouquet and gifted it to me for Christmas. When I saw it I was so excited!! I had been convinced that it had been thrown away.

That’t my wedding bouquet story and unfortunately not all wedding bouquets have a happy ending like mine did. I have heard so many stories of how the brides bouquet was thrown out, or over time they fell apart. This is the very reason why I decided to paint wedding bouquets. What a better way to preserve your bouquet than to have a custom painting of it? From my own experience I know how special a brides wedding bouquet is to her. A custom painting of your bouquet is something to treasure, and pass down to your family. Think of the stories that it will carry with it.

I only ever use the best materials to paint your bouquets, so that you can keep them forever.
