This is a very small list of books but each one has helped me improve my art over the years and I promise they will improve yours as well!

Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Betty Edwards

This book is absolutely amazing and I think every artist should have this book in their collection! When I first started watercolor painting I would get so frustrated because I couldn’t draw. I knew that if I wanted to get better at painting I needed to at least know the basics of drawing. When I started reading through this book and practicing some of the simple drawing lessons I was amazed! If you are someone that believes that you can not draw or just want to improve your drawing, this book is for you! You can find the book here.

Drawing With Children by Mona Brookes

This book is for your little artists, but I promise you will learn to draw as well! The lessons are so easy and simple for kids to understand. Drawing With Children is the kids version of Drawing on the Right Side Of The Brain in my opinion! I am so excited to go through this book with my son when he is just a little bit older. You can find the book here.

Everyday Watercolor by Jenna Rainey

This book is perfect for the beginner watercolor painter! Jenna goes through everything from painting supplies, color theory, to painting techniques! You will learn how to paint beautiful vibrant paintings that you will actually want to display in your home! Every page is so beautiful and you will walk away feeling more inspired and encouraged after reading this book and practicing the lessons. You can find the book here.

I hope that these books help you in your creative practice as they have helped me!
